What to expect
Acapulco—the queen of Mexican beach destinations—is known for her fine resorts, outstanding dining and nightlife, and festive atmosphere. Situated on the Pacific Coast, Mexico’s oldest and most urban beach destination is known as the birthplace of parasailing, swim-up bars, pyramid-shaped hotels, and cliff diving.
When to go
High season runs from mid-December through Easter week; value season starts after spring break. Lush Acapulco enjoys warm, tropical weather all year long. From June through October, expect daily rain and warm temperatures.

6 to 7.5 hours (via Mexico City or Houston) from Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York

  • Airport to resort areas: 20 to 30 minutes
